This is a year-round, contractual services, staff position. Number of hours per week is variable and negotiable.

Regional position. Travel to visit breeders, feeders, and producers, attend Chianina shows and sales, field days, and exhibitions will be required.

Duties of this position include responsibility for promoting and marketing Chianina cattle and representing the American Chianina Association throughout the region.

• Schedule and conduct herd visits with Chianina breeders and cattlemen throughout the region.
• Promote Chianina genetics throughout the region.
• Coordinate and support sales and marketing efforts.
• Assist breeders in promoting, marketing, and merchandising Chianina influenced cattle.
• Work with breeders to register and transfer Chianina pedigrees.
• Assist breeders in collecting and submitting performance and genetic data.
• Work with other staff to sell advertising.
• Submit sale reports to the ACJ Editor.
• Submit show reports to the ACJ Editor.
• Attend and support cattle shows, expositions, and field days.

• Previous experience with livestock production, sales or marketing preferred.
• Proficient with Word and Excel.
• Good communication skills (speaking, writing, and listening).
• Proficient in email and social media.
• Ability to travel.
• Self-motivated.

• $500 monthly car allowance and mileage reimbursement.
• Each employee is provided with a $20,000 accidental death, dismemberment or life insurance policy.
• Nine paid holidays, including New Year’s, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve day and Christmas Day.
• Six days of sick leave per year, beginning 90 days after employment begins. Unused sick leave may be carried, not to exceed a maximum of 12 accrued sick days.
• Travel expenses reimbursed monthly with properly itemized voucher and receipts as authorized by the IRS.
• Jury duty, witness leave, and voting time.

Director of Sales & Marketing / Field Representative receives an annual salary that is commensurate with experience. Incentives for registrations, ACJ ads, sales, and memberships will be provided. Commission will be paid on all ACA sponsored sales, excluding benefit sales. Cost of living and merit raises will be considered at the time of the employee’s annual review and evaluation. Cost of living increases will not exceed 2.5%. All raises shall be determined and approved by the ACA Board of Directors.

Director of Sales & Marketing / Field Representative is accountable to and supervised by the ACA Executive Director and the ACA Board Chairman.
