He then attended Iowa Lakes Community College in Emmetsburg, Iowa. Mark began working at the Farmer’s Coop Elevator in Royal, Iowa.  He was then self-employed fitting cattle and in April of 1988 he began working for Trans Ova Genetics in Sioux Center, Iowa. Their pasture is just next to the Liberty Perry Township Cemetery where he is being laid to rest so he can continue to keep watch. Mark was active in the Sioux County and Plymouth County Fairs. He was at one time a member of the Sioux County Fair board, a board member for the American Chianina Association, and the President of the Iowa Chianina Association.
